MT Space is a multicultural theatre company based in the Waterloo Region. Our company was built off of the need to have more inclusive spaces for theatre, and we take time to learn from theatre practices around the world while immersing ourselves in rich cultural perspectives beyond the traditional theatre experience.  

We are seeking youth to join our team through Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) (Employment and Social Development Canada) and Summer Experience Program (SEP) (Government of Ontario) in summer 2022.

Administrative Assistant – 1 Position (CSJ)

Duties: The Administrative Assistant will assist the Company Manager and Interim General Manager with the daily office and administrative needs of MT Space. They will also take the lead on the projects with regards to office organization and the re-structuring of current database information.   

Archival Assistant – 1 Position (CSJ)

Duties: The Archival Assistant will work with the Company Manager and Interim General Manager to create an inventory system for MT Space’s production equipment and artistic materials. The Archival Assistant will be required to be on-site to complete this work.   

Associate Producer – 2 Positions (CSJ & SEP)

Duties: The Associate Producers will work with the Company Manager and Artistic Director to assist with project coordination and management. This will include outreach to theatres and performing arts networks; communication with artists; writing contracts and schedules; and tour planning. The Associate Producers will also work with the Artistic Director and company partners to assist in the organization of the 22/23 Season. 

Marketing Assistant – 1 Position (CSJ)

Duties: The Marketing Assistant will work directly with the Public Outreach and Development Coordinator and Website Manager to assist in developing, producing, distributing and archiving marketing and promotional materials. The Marketing Assistant will also help to implement public relations strategies with e-blasts and other forms of public engagement.
