Position: Volunteer Manager

Hours: Full-Time 35hr/week
Pay: $18.20/hr
Location: Remote and on-site in Waterloo, ON
Restrictions: For youth aged 15-30
Eligibility
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible for the position, applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*International students are not eligible. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
Description
The Volunteer Manager will work with the Associate Producer and be responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and onboarding volunteers for MT Space activities and events for the remainder of the 2024-25 season and in preparation for IMPACT 25 festival.
Responsibilities will include:
- Learning about MT Space and organization activities to onboard recruited volunteers
- Recruiting new volunteers at local volunteer fairs and by attending local events
- Updating and maintaining internal volunteer database
- Communicating with volunteers about upcoming opportunities
- Onboarding volunteers to MT Space and event tasks
- Creating schedules and task assignments for events
- Being the point of contact for volunteers on-site during events
- Ensuring proper paperwork is completed and submitted to the General Manager
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
This is a hybrid position. The role requires working some days in-person at our office in Waterloo, and on-site for events around Waterloo Region. Must be available some evenings and weekends.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and Outlook an asset
- Organizational and scheduling skills from previous administrative work an asset
- Experience working within non-profit organizations or the arts an asset
- Valid G-class driver’s license an asset
- Preferred level of education: post-secondary
