Position: Inventory Manager

Pay: $18.60/ hr
Location: Remote and on-site in Waterloo, ON
Restrictions: For youth aged 15-30
Eligibility:
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible for the position, applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
*International students are not eligible. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
Description:
The Inventory Manager will work with the Company Manager to support in managing and tracking the organization’s physical assets, outside of office inventory. This includes inventory related to the company’s artistic projects, such a set pieces, costumes, props, and technical equipment. Responsibilities will include:
- Labelling and categorizing inventory in the company on-site and off-site storage spaces
- Creating logging systems for items
- Digitizing physical labels systems
- Taking stock of existing inventory in company storage spaces
- Ensuring all theatrical production assets are in show-ready condition
- Making note of any items in disrepair and planning for repair or replacement
- Researching competitive quotes for software or programs related to inventory management and tracking
- Ensuring the tracking system is user-friendly and can be easily accessed by other team members
- Creating back-ups for databases to ensure safe keeping of information
- Designing and suggesting physical storage systems for on-site and off-site storage spaces that are cost effective and user-friendly
- Organizing and categorizing existing archived printed marketing materials for quick access and reference
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
This is a hybrid position. The role requires working at least 2 days in-person at our office in Waterloo.
- Experience with spreadsheets or inventory management tools
- Experience working within the arts or non-profit organizations an asset
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and Outlook an asset
- Preferred level of education: post-secondary
