• The End of an Era & New Beginnings 3.1.2012

    MT Space is no longer renting out or even rehearsing in the studio that has been its creative heart and home for the last seven years.

    We're excited by the prospect of starting to rehearse in a new space, custom-made for performing arts organizations and other groups in the region—The Courtyard at Bonnie Stuart.

    Even though it's just down the hall it's a big change and we're energized by the potential for new activity and creative endeavors surrounding us in this evolving creative hub.

    We’re starting to get a reputation. 

    2012 started with the MT Space sitting at the top of a few “Best of Toronto Theatre” lists.

    No less than #1, (in no particular order) according to Toronto Sun reviewer John Coulbourn, who caught The Last 15 Seconds when it played in Toronto last spring. He called it the best of the best: Full Article Here.

    We're pleased to announce that the hiring process for a New General Manager for the Multicultural Theatre (MT) Space has begun.

    The General Manager works with Artistic Director Majdi Bou-Matar on short and long-term planning and is responsible for the administrative management of the company.

    The GM manages the daily business operations of MT Space including the administrative management of artistic projects and festivals, touring, marketing, public relations, communication, outreach, fundraising and community relations.

    This is a full-time, salaried position.

    Here be Dragons will be starting closer to 8:30 to allow for 7pm shows to get to the show's starting point a few blocks down King St.

  • IMPACT 11 Opening Night 21.9.2011

    Tonight marked the opening of the IMPACT 11 international theatre festival.

    After months of preparation, doors opened and the curtains rose.

    The opening ceremony was a mixture of cultural performances from all over the world. It was an experience full of dances, songs, costumes, lights and movements that make the IMPACT 11 stages in downtown Kitchener the ideal place to play, engage, rejuvenate and party!

  • The Company from Colombia has Arrived! 19.9.2011

    Last Night, Tino Fernandez and L’Explose Danza Contemporánea arrived in Canada!

    Staying at the Walper Hotel, L’Explose moves straight into rehearsal and preparation for Opening night, this Wednesday Sept 21 at 9pm. This brilliant Colombian company will spend the next couple days in production rehearsals, perfecting their provocative and controversial performance, La Razon de las Ofelias which has two shows only.
