First Dance comes to Waterloo
By: Trevor Copp, Jeff Fox & Lisa O'Connell
September 27 & 28 | 8:00 PM | University of Waterloo's Theatre of the Arts
As gay marriage becomes legal in Canada, a man who is about to marry his male partner embarks on devising their traditional First Dance. Using ballroom dance and theatre, his journey as a gay man is explored through the challenge of creating a dance for a ritual that has no history.
"They move with considerable style, grace, strength and precision…a sparkling gem that needs little polishing." - Dennis Smith, Burlington Post
Tottering Biped Theatre was founded in 2008 as the first professional theatre in the Burlington area. TBT focuses on contemporary works with social issue themes and emphasizes highly physical and Canadian devised theatre.
First Dance will be performed at the University of Waterloo’s Theatre of the Arts on Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28.
Performances begin at 8pm - tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students and $5 for high school students through EyeGO.
