About the Festival

The IMPACT Theatre Festival
international multicultural platform for alternative contemporary theatre

Since 2004, The MT Space has been Waterloo Region's multicultural theatre company - striving to develop forms and practices that reflect contemporary Canadian communities. To continue to fulfill its mandate and aspirations, The MT Space presents the continuation of the largest and most ambitious project in its history, IMPACT 11.

For five days this September there will be no better place in the entire country to experience world-class theatre than right here in Waterloo Region. IMPACT 11 presents the best physical theatre from overseas and the latest in Canadian intercultural theatre. It provides a wealth of opportunities to engage in meaningful activity and discussion with artists, producers, and presenters from across Canada. IMPACT 11 brings together the local and the international, the emerging and the established, the traditional and the contemporary. IMPACT 11 is the culmination of a collaborative effort of many arts organizations from across Waterloo Region, including Lost&Found Theatre, Flush Ink Productions, Pat the Dog Playwright Development Centre, KW Youth Theatre, Multicultural Cinema Club, Shadow Puppet Theatre, and Neruda Productions. It is a gift from our community to our community and to the world.
